Green Tile Values Follow
FAQ: Why are the values listed on the back of my green tile shown as XYZ instead of L* a* b*?
When HunterLab instrument standard and diagnostic standard tiles are calibrated at the factory they are done so with the CIE XYZ tristimulus values. The XYZ values are most often used as a starting point for the calculation of other color values such as the CIE L* a* b* color scale or the Hunter L a b color scale. Since XYZ values are the basis from which other color scales are calculated HunterLab uses the XYZ color scale when calibrating tiles and performing instrument diagnostic tests.
If you have HunterLab's EasyMatch QC software for use with your instruments you can use the software to convert color values. Please see this note for instructions. You also might find this note helpful if trying to manually enter values into the software to convert your tile values.
If you do not have the EasyMatch QC software please see this note for online sources for color conversion.
