What are the Small Masking Port Options for the ColorFlex EZ? Follow
The ColorFlex EZ sample view area measures 25 mm (1.0 in) in diameter with a 32 mm (1.25 in) open port (HL# 04-6623-10). Reading an area smaller than the normal fixed view of the ColorFlex EZ means that the port is masking the viewed sample area by the sensor.
HunterLab has 3 smaller diameter ports that allow measurements of samples smaller than 32 mm and these ports mask the viewed area of the sensor. Standardization minimizes the masking effects. but the limit is typically a diameter half of the normal view (13 mm or 0.50 in in this case).
Here are some open, masked port options that can be used with the ColorFlex EZ or legacy ColorFlex 45/0 LAV:
04-6623-09 Open Port Insert, 25 mm (1.00 in), Masking
Provides a field-replaceable, snap-in 25 mm (1.00 in) port insert that is open and masks the sample to the 25 mm viewing area of the instrument.
04-6623-08 Open Port Insert, 19 mm (0.75 in), Masking
Provides a field-replaceable, snap-in 19 mm (0.75 in) port insert that is open. The instrument typically measures a 25 mm viewing area and this port masks the viewing area of the sample to a smaller 19 mm diameter.
04-6623-05 Open Port Insert, 13 mm (0.50 in), Masking
Provides a field-replaceable, snap-in 13 mm (0.50 in) port insert that is open. The instrument typically measures a 25 mm viewing area and this port masks the viewing area of the sample to a smaller 13 mm diameter.
02-6624-01 Port Insert, 25 mm (1.00 in) with Glass, Masking
Provides a field-replaceable, snap-in 25 mm (1.00 in) port insert with clear borosilicate glass. The 25 mm diameter port masks the sample to the 25 mm viewing area of the instrument. The glass is intended to protect the interior of the instrument from sample and airborne particles.
