LabScanXE versus ColorFlex45/0 UC-Davis Tomato Scores Follow

The LabScan XE uses a 0/45 geometry and the ColorFlex uses 45/0, for the most part asample measured on both of these geometries produce the same result. There are exceptions and samples such as translucent Tomato Paste is one of them. If HunterLab were to be asked to assign a single Tomato tile for use with both a LabScan XE and a ColorFlex 45/0 the tile would have two different sets of values, with the greatest variation in the a/b ratio.

You should only use a US-Davis red Tomato tile with the instrument for which it was calibrated.
