Which Calibration Verification Data is most important to save? Follow
Question:
I am trying to decipher how to evaluate the “As Found Color” Individual Tile Readings so that I can enter the data on our corporate data sheets. There are 4 columns for the “Target Values” (Standard values) and 4 columns for the “Readings” (Instrument values). It appears that one would evaluate the column 1 (most left hand column) for the target values to the readings. Then doing the same for both second columns and so on, correct? Is there any one of the 4 columns that is the most important? Do you have any information that you can send me that explains this? I would think that you would do the same for the “As Left” values. I do realize that one needs to evaluate the white and green tile data and I think I understand that part of it.
Answer:
The test Passes or Fails based on the following criteria. For As Found and As Left the individual color difference, either dE* or dECMC, for each tile must be equal to or below the color difference value in the Target Values row for that tile, AND the average color difference( sum of individual color difference divided by the count), either dE* or dECMC, must be equal to or below the value shown at the bottom of the list. That implies that the most important data to record is the individual color difference value and the average color difference. Additionally all Diagnostic data, Repeatability, Check tile, and Check filter (if your instrument is supplied with one) must produce Passing results, so recording the Max dE* and the XYZ differences is also important. If you are not space limited then you can also save the CIELAB data, Target and Readings which was used to calculate the color differences and the actual Diagnostic readings.
