How to Assign Green Tile Diagnostics Values to Custom Port Plates on ColorFlex L2 Follow
In many color measurement systems, conducting a Green Tile diagnostics test requires the operator to use only the 1" port plate. To simplify Green Tile diagnostics testing, in addition to the 1" port plate, the ColorFlex L2 enables operators to perform diagnostics with either the Sample Cup port plate or a Custom Port plate.
The ColorFlex L2 is shipped with stored Green Tile values for the 1" port plate that are assigned at the factory. Additionally, users can assign and save Green Tile values for the Sample Cup port plate and a Custom Port plate through a "first time use" function built into the Instrument Standardization routine.
When performing an Instrument Standardization, in addition to measuring the Instrument Black Glass and Instrument White Tile, the user is prompted to present the Diagnostic Green Tile as a performance check.
When Instrument Standardization is performed for the first time and the measurement mode includes the Sample Cup port plate or a Custom Port plate, the standardization routine will include five measurements of the Diagnostic Green Tile. Those five measurements will be averaged into a single colorimetric value and that value will be saved as the Diagnostic Green Tile targets.
Here's an example of how this works.
- For Standardization Mode = 1” port plate. Green Diagnostics tile values are set at the factory.
- For Standardization Mode = Sample Cup or Custom, the Green tile values are collected during the first instrument standardization in that mode and saved in the system for that port plate. (Figure 1 and 2 below).
When a user performs standardization on a Sample Cup or Custom port plate for the first time, after the Black Glass and Instrument White tile measurements, the user will be prompted to present the Green Diagnostic Check tile.
The system will automatically collect five measurements and average those results into a single colorimetric value that will be associated with that port plate and saved.
Adding this capability to Essentials 2.0 will eliminate the need for users to switch port plates and make performing Green Diagnostic Tile checks simpler.
