How can I determine if my CFEZ is connected to my computer? We need to determine if your computer can recognize that the CFEZ is connected. 1.Can you identify the sensor in the Hardware Device Manager? You need to look in Start, Control Panel, System, Hardware,Device Manager, then expand the Human Interface Device branch of the Hardware tree. As you connect and then disconnect the CFEZ (the CFEZ must be powered on)to the USB port you will see a Human Interface Device appear then disappear. If the CFEZ is connected and it powers off then it will disappear from the list. 2.Look at all of the Human Interface Devices listed, click on Properties, then Details.Look for the Device IDVID_1D89&PID_5AA5\1.0.0 this is the ID for the CFEZDoes it show up? If it shows up you are connected. If it does not show up contact the HL Service Departmentfor further troubleshooting of the USB interface card in the CFEZ.3.Once connected you can start EZMQCsoftware using Sensor Install Configure to install the instrument. Note: You must choose ColorFlexEZ from the dropdown list, DO NOT choose ColorFlex, this is used for the older sensor which uses serial communications4.Is my CFEZ USB connector working?Disconnect the CFEZ from the computer. From the Main Menu navigate to Diagnostics, Self Test. This will test the M3DA board (Data Acquisition) and M3USB (USB Controller) boards. If the test reports the firmware version to the right of these names and a checksum on the bottom of the screen this indicates that these devices are working. If no firmware version is displayed next to the M3USB name then this device has failed to communicate with the M3AP (Application Processor) board. If the firmware shows up then check the cable between the CFEZ and computer. Next check the computer to insure that the USB port you are using on the computer is enabled and working correctly. If no firmware version is displayed for the M3USB then the unit will have to be returned to HunterLab for service.
