Provides an overview of HunterLab's instruments for compliance with ASTM E1477 and ASTM C609.

ASTM-E1477 requires the user to calculate Y from a measurement using an integrating sphere instrument and including the specular component. ASTM C609 recommends the user calculate Y or L* from a specular-included measurements but allows the user to do a specular-excluded measurement if they clearly mark that those results as being specular- excluded.

HunterLab ColorQuest XE, UltraScan Vis, UltraScan Pro, Vista and MiniScan EZ 4000 series can do specular-included reflectance measurements. HunterLab Agera, Aeros, LabScan XE, ColorFlex EZ, D25NC and MiniScan EZ 4500 series can do specular-excluded measurements.
