Purpose: To instruct on how to format a USB for the MiniScan EZ:

- Using the Computer, go to the START menu, select RUN. Type in CMD and press OK. This will open a DOS box.
- Connect the USB memory stick to an available USB slot in the computer.
- Select START > My Computer and locate the USB memory stick in the Devices with Removable Storage section. Note the drive that is assigned to the USB memory stick.
In the example below that drive is (E:), close this window and return to the DOS box.
At the command prompt type in the following, Format (d): where (d) is the drive assignment for the USB memory device. Based on the example above you would type in Format E: then press enter.

Any information that was on the stick prior to being formatted will be lost after the formatting is completed. Ensure that the USB memory is ready for the format process. At this time press ENTER and the USB memory stick will be formatted.
If the format was successful, the following will appear:

The red line will not appear on the screen, it is shown to indicate the line that lets the user know that a FAT16 format was done on the selected drive.
