Several data collection systems such as WinSPC, Infinity, etc. require an RS-232 Serial Communication port for connection. MiniScan EZ, ColorFlex EZ and D2NC all have USB outputs and cannot be connected directly to these systems for data collection. The solution is to use the attached USB to Serial Bridge program on a Windows OS system.

Important Notes:

Here are the steps:

• Download USB2RS232.msi and runtime.msi to a PC from MSEZ CFEZ D25NC USB2Serial
• Install Runtime.msi in the PC.
• Connect ColorFlex EZ with the PC using the USB cable.
• Run USB2RS232 in the PC. Use the Com port method or TCP/IP method to connect with the data collection system. If use TCP/IP method, skip the com port dialog prompted from USB2RS232 tool. Then configure the IP of this PC in the data collection system with port number as 22222.
