Revision history
What's new in 2026.4.1
Updates since version 2026.3.1:
- Advanced PDF reporting. Combine multiple reports into a single PDF file, and add your company name and logo to the header of the PDF export.
- Remote display sharing. Enable remote display sharing in Network Settings to share the instrument's screen to your web browser.
- EasyMatch Quality Central 2026.4 and above Updated support for the latest EasyMatch Quality Central release.
- Time-limited licenses. Added support for time-limited licenses.
- Added a back button to the safe mode screen so you can exit back to Essentials without a passcode or power cycle.
- Fixed a bug where incomplete average measurements could cause a Job to disappear from the Job list.
- Fixed an error where the standardization procedure could throw an exception when quickly showing and hiding dataviews.
- Fixed a case where replacing all data views with a new set of views would cause Essentials to show no views at all.
- Fixed a persistent "diagnostics skipped" bug, now accounting for time zones when checking the last run.
- Corrected opacity measurement ordering in the Color Data Table.
- Updated Vista didymium filter names to "HunterLab Wavelength Standard" throughout the app.
- Fixed a bug where setting the instrument clock back would lock the measure button.
- Fixed cases where audit events were being created with no logged in user, causing errors when editing sample fields.
How to update
You can update Essentials L2 in three ways: from a USB flash drive, directly over the internet, or remotely from EasyMatch Quality Central.
Option 1 · USB flash drive
- Download the
.hunterlabfile onto a flash drive (for example,2024.4.2.hunterlab, where2024.4.2is the version number).Tip: You can rename the file if needed. Agera L2 recognizes it by file type, not by name. - Insert the flash drive into the Agera L2.
- Essentials L2 automatically detects the file on the drive.
- If the file is newer than the currently installed version, Essentials L2 displays a prompt to update.
The update prompt appears when a newer version is detected. Tap Install Update to begin. - Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation of the new Essentials L2 software.
Option 2 · Check for updates online
When the instrument is connected to the internet, Essentials L2 can check for available software updates directly.
- In Essentials L2, go to INSTRUMENT SETTINGS → GENERAL, then tap SOFTWARE UPDATE.
- (Optional) Enable "Check for updates on launch" to have Essentials L2 check automatically each time the application starts. This option is disabled by default.
- Tap the refresh icon under Available Updates to check for updates. If a newer version is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it.
