Vista L2 HunterLab Wavelength Standard / Didymium Filter Tolerance Change

Summary

Vista L2 uses updated tolerance values for the HunterLab Wavelength Standard, also commonly referred to as the didymium filter.

The correct Vista L2 tolerances are:

  • ±1.45 at 430 nm
  • ±2.55 at 570 nm

Reason for Change

The instrument wavelength performance requirement has not changed.

The tolerance values are different because the HunterLab Wavelength Standard used with Vista L2 has different optical characteristics from the previous didymium filter.

Note

In production, the correct Vista L2 tolerances are set when the standard is assigned in Essentials Internal Tools.

The simulator or default Essentials L2 setting may still show the older default tolerance values, ±1.05 at 430 nm and ±3.15 at 570 nm, until a specific HunterLab Wavelength Standard is assigned in manufacturing.

Important Clarification

Vista (Not Vista L2) units using the old-style didymium filter standard continue to use the previous tolerance values:

  • ±1.05 at 430 nm
  • ±3.15 at 570 nm
