Fluorescent retroreflective safety materials require different measurement approaches for daytime color, fluorescent contribution, and nighttime retroreflectivity. These properties are related, but they are not interchangeable. Selecting the correct standard, geometry, and instrument begins with identifying which optical question the measurement must answer.
